Overheating Truck? Here’s What Could Be Wrong
Overheating Truck? Here’s What Could Be Wrong!
When it’s hot and humid outside, it’s easy for trucks to get overheated – especially in Missouri. Overheating can cause even bigger damage to your automobile if not taken care of right away. The tough part is knowing exactly what the problem is. Here at Baillie Diesel, we have put together a helpful list of reasons why your truck may overheat and what you need to know.
Cooling System: A cooling system is the single most important defense when it comes to keeping your truck’s engine cool. If your truck overheats, one of the first places to look is at a coolant system. Bring your vehicle in for a professional to check immediately.
Radiator: Folks who work their trucks on a farm or in off-road areas are prone to gradually get small items built up. As they accumulate, they cause blockage. Because the radiator is an important part of a cooling system, it’s important to keep it clean and clear. Baillie Diesel will make sure your radiator is good as new!
Coolant: Does your truck have enough coolant? It is important to keep an eye on coolant levels by making sure the coolant reaches the line marked “full”.
Water Pump: The water pump helps propel engine coolant throughout the cooling system. If your water pump malfunctions, this can cause disruption in the coolant flow and your engine may overheat. If your water pump isn’t working, contact a professional for assistance.
Note: Before opening up your engine compartment, be extremely weary of the heat and possible backfires under the hood.
